Somatic Therapy

Heal through the body, not just the mind.

Stress and trauma don’t just live in our thoughts – they live in our bodies. You may feel disconnected, numb, or overwhelmed by everyday tasks and relationships. Somatic therapy helps you tune into your body’s wisdom to uncover what talk therapy alone may not reach.

What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy is a holistic, body-centered approach to healing that gently connects with your nervous system to support deeper emotional awareness and release what’s been held in your body. Through body-based practices, it helps you access, process, and let go of patterns stored beneath the surface. Rooted in neuroscience, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, somatic therapy guides you to notice and respond to the physical sensations that often accompany emotional pain—creating space for lasting change and relief.

Somatic Therapy Can Be Helpful For

  • Chronic stress or burnout

  • Trauma held in the body

  • Disconnection or emotional numbness

  • Persistent anxiety or feelings of overwhelm

  • A sense of feeling “stuck” despite previous therapy

  • Feeling unsafe or ungrounded in your own body

Whether you’re navigating long-term stress or recovering from trauma, somatic therapy can help you reconnect - with your body, your emotions, and your sense of self.

What to Expect in Somatic Therapy

We’ll begin by creating a supportive, regulated space where you can safely explore what’s coming up in your body. You won’t be asked to relive painful memories - instead, we’ll gently follow the body’s cues to discover what needs attention.

Sessions might include:

  • Guided awareness and breathwork

  • Movement or posture exploration

  • Nervous system regulation techniques

  • Noticing sensations in the body, impulses, or shifts in energy

Together, we’ll build your capacity to stay present in your body and gradually release what’s been held inside. You’re always in control. My approach is a collaborative, empowering process.

Benefits of Somatic Therapy

As we work together, you may experience:

  • A greater connection to yourself and your body

  • Reduced anxiety, overwhelm, or feelings of shutting down

  • A deeper sense of calm and resilience

  • Relief from long-held tension or emotional pain

  • Increased trust and understanding of your body’s physical signals

  • A more grounded and present way of living
